Each term we celebrate our student successes by hosting a breakfast for all students with B's or better and/or perfect attendance. All parents and guardians are invited. New Bedford High School sends over successful seniors to speak to our students and answer questions about the high school experience. We'd like to thank NBHS students Rebecca Mills,
Eric Boulay, Chaysen Cabral and Eldric Abreu (pictured above) for sharing their inspiring stories and taking the time to visit our students and their parents table to table. They spoke about
overcoming obstacles and how show choir, sports, hanging with the "right" people
have helped them succeed. They spoke about the colleges they will be attending
and AP courses they took. Congratulations to all, nice job!
Student Spotlight: Hope Leonor
The
21st Century has been working on raising blankets, pet food, toys, and cleaning
supplies for the Humane Society of the South Coast. Hope Leonor is a very dedicated
member of the 21st century Community Service Club. She never misses a meeting
and is always willing and eager to help others. Her mom recently came in with a
huge box full of pet food, cleaning supplies, towels, and toys for the drive.
Hope explained that she worked with her dad who is a local contractor over
February vacation. She explained she had worked hard and helped him to sheet
rock. She took all of the money that she earned and used it to buy her donations
for the animal shelter! Her parents, Mr. Martins, Mrs. Simmons, and Ms. Barry
are all so proud of her generosity, work ethic, and her compassion towards
helping others!
Student Spotlight: Mackenzie Sanders
Congratulations to Mackenzie Sanders for earning a spot at the Heading for Greatness breakfast. She was surprised at the breakfast by a special
guest, her bus driver. Mackenzie has developed a special
relationship with him. He showed up to the breakfast and surprised her with
flowers. Mackenzie was so proud and excited!
