Student Leader:
Sarah Doyle-Grade 7
Mrs. Garcia has nominated Sarah Doyle for a leadership training that happens in Washington, D.C. next summer called "Foundations of Leadership." Some of our students have attended in the past and I think that Sarah completely fits the bill for this program. Foundations of Leadership enables students to turn academic potential into real-world leadership action. As part of this fun yet intensive program, they will discover their passions and create a clear road map to high school, college and career success.
Chess at Lunch:
Kevin Maurice vs. Vuong Phan
Lunch time at Normandin has become an extension of learning, where students converse quietly, play chess and read books. Chess sets are now available for students to sign out during lunch to play each other, the staff, and even the Principal! Above, Kevin Maurice and Vuong Phan enjoy a friendly game of chess after lunch.
