Experimental Archaeology At Normandin Middle School

One of best ways for modern people to figure out how our ancient ancestors lived is to try it ourselves. On September 20th Pod 7-2 at Normandin Middle School did just that! Mr. Alan Levelli from the Public Archaeology Laboratory in Providence Rhode Island came by to talk to our students about our ancient ancestors. Not only did Mr. Levelli discuss how ancient humans made and used stone tools, he also demonstrated how they did it. Using a combination of different types of stone and bones, Mr. Levelli crafted tools in the same ways that ancient man did. Students in Pod 7-2 have been learning about ancient man and his use of technology for the last week in the class, and now they got to see how it was done first hand.   A big thank you to Mr. Levelli and great job to our teachers and kids of Pod 7-2!
