Congressman Keating Speaks to Normandin Students
Congressman Bill Keating visited Normandin Middle School on Tuesday Oct 23rd. He spoke to our 8th graders from Pod 8-1 in the library. The congressman spoke about Government, the political process and the benefits of staying in school. Congressman Keating also spoke about the importance of dreams. He took the time to allow each student to share their dream and answered ALL our student questions. School Committee member Dr. John Fletcher and new School Committee member Bruce Oliveira were in attendance to support our school and students. Congressman Keating presented Principal Burkhead with a United States Flag to hang at our school with pride!
A special thank you to Mr. Donnelly for organizing the event, along with Pod 8-1 teachers! Ms. Hinkley did an awesome job setting up the library to model a true "town hall" venue.
